    Program Overview

    "The actor training major challenges you to expand both your craft and your creative imagination so that you can be successful in a broad range of theatrical styles from the contemporary to the classical. A carefully planned progression of acting, voice and speech, and movement classes stimulates your talent and builds the capacity to be bold and innovative. Fourth-year actor training students audition for roles in the Hartford Stage Company’s season, including its annual production of A Christmas Carol."

    Admissions requirements

    International Pathway Program

    The GPP is designed for students who are academically qualified but need to enhance their English proficiency. GPP students take a combination of academic and English courses.

    Undergraduate

    • Standard IPP

      60 TOEFL or 5.5 IELTS or 42 PTE or 1001-1100 GTEC or 48 Versant

    • Extended GPP

      55 TOEFL or 5.0 IELTS or 36 PTE or 801-1000 GTEC or 43 Versant

    Graduate

    • Standard IPP

      70 TOEFL or 6.0 IELTS or PTE 50 or GTEC 1101-1175 or Versant 61-68

    • Extended GPP

      60 TOEFL or 5.5 IELTS or PTE 42 or GTEC 1001-1100 or Versant 53-60
