IELTS 6.0 overall (no band below 5.5)


For admission onto the first year of an undergraduate bachelors degree course we generally accept the following qualifications and grades:

Pass the Higher National Diploma with a minimum overall GPA of 2.0. International Baccalaureate Diploma with a range of 28 – 30 We also accept students who have completed a US high school curriculum.


The majority of our taught Masters programme require that you hold a qualification equivalent to a lower second-class Bachelor Honours (or 2.2).

Fees and funding

The University of Hull recognizes the significant investment – personal and financial – made by you in choosing to go to university. That’s why they offer a number of awards in appreciation of either your academic efforts or personal circumstances.

Standard tuition fees for international students are £14,000 per year for arts programs and £16,600 for science courses for 2019 entry – but substantial discounts and scholarships are available.

New international students paying standard tuition fees at Hull receive a discount of up to £3,500 per year.
