The American University of Beirut (AUB) bases its education on the American liberal arts model. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and focuses on producing graduates who think creatively and critically.
There are more than 130 programs on offer across bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees; these are within agricultural and food sciences, arts and sciences, engineering and architecture, health sciences, medicine, nursing (Rafic Hariri School), and business faculties.
AUB is located in Ras Beirut, with its main 60.9 acre campus overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Facilities include athletic fields, a private beach, a natural history museum, and five libraries.
