    The people are calm, charismatic yet split into two groups - those that love their country and plan to stay here long-term, and those that want to leave abroad. I disagree with those with the latter point of view. I presume the saying "the grass is always greener on the other side" is applicable in this situation.

    Hungary is beautiful and nice to get around, locals are okay, but it can be hard to understand the language. Budapest’s thermal spas are beautiful as well and they’re my favorite place to visit.

How to study in Budapest

In order to study in Budapest, you first need to choose a university and a program you want to study. You should then check the entry requirements for your chosen program. Most bachelor’s degrees require you to have completed secondary education in your home country as a minimum.

If you want to study an English-led program, you’ll need to prove to the university that you have the required level of language skills. To do this you’ll need to take a TOEFL or IELTS English language test.

Once you’ve applied and been accepted on to a program in Budapest, you need to get a Hungarian student visa if you live outside of the EU.

Cost to study in Budapest

Tuition fees in Budapest are lower than many other cities in Europe and the US. If you’re from outside the EU / EEA, you can expect to pay between $1,500 and $9,000 a year, but the exact amount will depend on the university and program you choose to study.
