The Akademie Mode & Design (AMD) is the specialist design department of the larger Hochschule Fresenius University of Applied Sciences in Germany. AMD has a clear mission: to encourage, inspire, and educate the world’s creative and business-oriented youth.

For over 30 years, AMD has provided students with the expertise they need to begin a successful career in the creative industries. With top-class faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and a supportive learning environment, AMD students have every opportunity to fulfill their potential.

Students can choose from a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, taught in both English and German. Popular areas of study include fashion, design, technology, media, and communication.

With five campuses across the vibrant cities of Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Munich, and Wiesbaden, AMD offers an authentic German study abroad experience.

Fees and funding

  • Undergraduate tuition - €8,100 per year
  • Graduate tuition - €8,700 per year
  • Estimated living expenses - €8,000 per year

The German Scholarship

The Germany Scholarship was created by the German government to promote young talent and high-performing students. Each scholarship holder receives a monthly stipend of 300 euros for one year, half of which is financed by the state and the other half by sponsors from industry.
