Why study in Antibes?

Antibes is a stylish resort town located on the French Riviera. Nestled between the world-famous cities of Cannes and Nice, the town is famed for its superyacht marinas, sandy beaches, ancient architecture, and bustling markets.

As the former home of the Spanish painter, Pablo Picasso, Antibes boasts a thriving arts scene. Students can browse the town’s several galleries and museums, including the Musée Picasso, before indulging the local boutiques, cafés, restaurants, and bars.

Don’t worry if you’re more of an outdoor enthusiast, Antibes’ watersports, hiking trails, and cycle tracks will keep you busy after lectures.

If you’re looking to explore more of France during your time abroad, the town’s railway station offers connections to several destinations across the country. If you plan on jetting home over the university holidays, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is just 18km away.

EURECOM is ideally situated in the Côte d'Azur giving you the opportunity to visit interesting nearby cities like Nice and Antibes and well as places like Monaco. Italy is also just a train trip away, so you have ample places to explore. During winter you can ski on the Alps and during summer you get to enjoy the awesome French Riviera!

The people are welcoming, however, it is highly advised you learn some French and attempt to at least speak French with the locals in order to get better reception from them.

Nightlife in the city is a bit slow throughout the year, however, it becomes very lively during the summer with tonnes of events. Nice, which is a bigger city nearby has plenty of nightlife spots throughout the year. Regardless, the students always find ways to have their own fun hosting house parties, dinners or simple "aperos", so you can be sure that there is never a dull moment.

There are a wide variety of shops in the area catering to various cuisines from continental Europe to African and Asian cuisines.

I was living in Sophia Antipolis, but use to go to Antibes and Nice pretty often. The cities are pretty safe. I never felt scared or anything. People are pretty nice, they use to smile at you and greet you. They even use to try to talk to you and help you out if you are lost.
Transportation, I think it should be more frequent at night, like for people living in Sophia or Biot or Valbonne, its difficult for them to be out late. Because there is no bus facilities after 9 PM so that doesn't give you freedom to be out more.
Shops are nice, reachable and prices are manageable specially lidl, carrefour are good ones.

City (Antibes) is a small city at the French riviera. During summer it transforms to a party place because of the tourism. You can enjoy both mountain and sea but most importantly sun!

The French Riviera offers an amazing quality of life, sun, montains, sea, etc. It doesn't cost a lot to live with several people in villas. But if you don't live in a big city, you have to have a car because transportation is not very developped in the region.
