I studied a two-year master's degree in the Faculty of Education. The lecturers are uniformly well-qualified and interested in each student as an individual. I have always found them to be willing to go the extra mile to recommend further reading, to comment on your work, and to discuss the field with you. I found the course structure to be sensible, but the first semester was rather heavy on methodology and research skills. I would have preferred to have more content-rich courses from the beginning, and these only came up later in the programme.

Workload is fairly heavy, but definitely manageable if you keep on top of things. There is a flexible approach to assessment, so you have several opportunities to write each exam or submit each essay. This means you can space out your work as it suits you, and improve your mark if you underperformed. You also have a lot of flexibility in choosing your essay and research topics, and in deciding which and how many elective courses you would like to take. The programme is very well organised and the course coordinator is helpful and approachable.
