Be at the forefront of innovation with Master of Materials Chemistry and Engineering (MMCEN). This interdisciplinary field combines Materials Chemistry and Materials Engineering to develop new and improved products, and to test the quality of manufactured goods. This program includes introductory courses in both fields to provide students with a solid theoretical foundation. Along with practical lab skills, students will also gain experience in business plan development to prepare them for a wide range of career opportunities.

Students with degrees in Chemistry or Engineering can gain additional education & experiences in both fields, enabling you to work at the forefront in careers that rely on Materials Science and Engineering.

This program will produce graduates with expertise ranging across Science and Engineering, enabling you to develop successful careers in materials science & engineering, and giving you an edge in the job market.

  • Completion of your high school diploma is required, along with the appropriate minimum averages and pre-requisite requirements for the program applied to.

Postgraduate academic requirements

  • Graduates of recognized universities may be admitted to programs leading to the Master’s degree. A student with a four-year degree or equivalent in the discipline to which s/he is seeking admission, and who has an academic standing equivalent to 70% or better in the final two years of study (full time equivalent) may be admitted to a Master’s program.

English proficiency waivers

  • Student's native language is English
  • At least three consecutive years of full-time study in a recognized secondary school (undergraduate) including the satisfactory conclusion of English 12U (or equivalent) within the past two years
  • At least two consecutive years of full-time study in a post-secondary institution where the primary language of instruction is English within the past two years (undergraduate)
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree where at least two consecutive years of full-time study was instructed primarily in English within the past two years (graduate) in an English language speaking countries
  • Applicants educated in countries whose accredited education system is based in English
  • Demonstrate immersed professional employment requiring proficient communication in a solely English language environment for at least 3 years

Automatic Open Entrance Scholarships No matter what program you choose, you will be guaranteed a minimum level of institutional financial support in the form of scholarships and/or bursaries. Support is granted if you are entering directly from full-time secondary school studies, based on your application for admission and best six final and interim Grade 12 U/M level courses (or equivalent) available in May.
