Sound and Music for interactive media applications has been explored in teaching and research at Abertay University since the launch games programmes more than two decades ago. Today, our researchers are operating at the forefront in dynamic audio production for applications including games, immersive experiences, installations, and performance and play. Research can explore both practical and theoretical approaches to Sound and Music. Particular strengths at Abertay include synthesis, integration of dynamic audio within game engines and technologies, and exploration of sound design within virtual and augmented reality.
