The Applied Psychology - Mental Health Services certificate program offers a broad foundation in direct service provision of mental health services and related community services such as services for persons or families dealing with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and problems with substance abuse. The certificate program is interdisciplinary in nature and is designed to prepare students for careers indirect services in a variety of public, nonprofit, or private mental health or community service organizations. The program offers students opportunities for practical application of learning within an academic framework of respect for diversity, utilizing current ethical and community best practices standards. Career opportunities are projected to be above average for the foreseeable future.
