Southeast Missouri State University is a comprehensive, US public university with numerous national and international academic accreditations. It's located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, close to the banks of the Mississippi River.
The University offers more than 145 undergraduate majors, 100 minors, and over 75 graduate programs. All programs deliver a real-world education that ensures graduates have the skills and knowledge to become leaders in their communities and the global workplace.
Their 328-acre campus is a mix of old and new, with 21 residence halls and 10 dining facilities giving students many choices. They also have a modern recreation center and an aquatic center available to students, along with more than 180 social, recreational and special interest organizations.
Southeast competes in NCAA Division I, Ohio Valley Conference in a number of sports including baseball, basketball, cross country, football, and track.

With generous merit-based scholarships for international students, Southeast prides itself on being both affordable and excellent.
You may be eligible for an Academic Scholarship for international students, if you meet certain test/language and GPA requirements. You will automatically be considered for these scholarships with your Application for Admission to Southeast.
Additionally, each year you will be automatically considered for Endowed Scholarships. Through the generosity of alumni and area businesses, Southeast has over 1,100 endowed scholarships. These are a great option for international students too. If you are awarded an endowed scholarship, you will be notified by email.

Freshman students -International Academic Excellence - $8,000 / year GPA 3.7 / TOEFL 79 / IELTS 6.5 / ACT 27 / SAT 1280+
-International Achievement Award (IAA) - up to $5,737.50 / year GPA 3.2 / TOEFL 69 or IELTS 6.0 or ACT 21 or SAT 1060+ (Its the difference between in-state and out-of state tuition - students need to register for 30 credits per year)

Life at Southeast Missouri State University
Southeast Missouri State University is home to nearly 12,000 students from over 52 countries. There are many resources available to help incoming international students settle into life at Southeast, including orientation and a buddy program.
Orientation is one week before classes begin, and is designed to help you get acquainted with the University before term starts. The buddy program is optional, and will pair you with a US student or faculty member who you’ll meet regularly and will help adjust to life at Southeast.
All international students at Southeast will need to live on campus for at least four semesters.
