The University of Saskatchewan (uSask) is a top research university situated in Saskatoon, Canada. It’s a member of the U15, a group of the top Canadian research universities. The main university campus is home to programs ranging from business, law, arts and science, to engineering, medicine and veterinary medicine, along with many others.

Life as an international student

More than 24,900 people from 130 countries study at uSask, which includes more than 3,000 international students and over 3,100 self-declared Aboriginal students. It’s diverse population means you won’t be alone as an international student at uSask.

The International Student and Study Abroad Center (ISSAC) is a central support unit and a campus partner for all students, staff, and faculty. ISSAC is dedicated to fostering a welcoming, globally aware and inclusive campus community. Their staff are available to assist you with any queries or support you may need during your time at the University.

The University offers English language classes to help you improve your language skills during your program if you need help. There are also a wide range of campus groups and activities you can get involved with to help you meet new people.

    Most facilities is new. Accommodation is too expensive. Communication is easy and direct. Various societies exist on campus for students to join. We have U-pass and the busiest bus stop is on campus.

Fees and funding

International students are automatically considered for Guaranteed Entrance Scholarships upon applying for admission and may also apply for select Best and Brightest Scholarships and Competitive Entrance Awards. uSask also offers scholarships specifically for undergraduate international students.

Funding

University of Saskatchewan International Excellence Awards

Value: $10,000

International students will be considered automatically for these awards, which are based on academic achievement, upon admission.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Excellence Awards

Value: $20,000

International students completing the IB Diploma program will be considered automatically upon admission.

Canadian Curriculum Schools Awards

Value: $15,000

For international students graduating from an international (non-domestic) Canadian curriculum school. Students who wish to be considered for this award must complete the Canadian Curriculum Schools Awards application.

Council of International School Awards

Value: $15,000

For international students entering undergraduate degree programs at the University of Saskachewan who graduated from a CIS member school. Students who wish to be considered for this award must complete the Council of International School Awards application.
