In Belgium, French is the second official language so if you are entering the local job market, you will need at least some basic knowledge. On an international level, you will also benefit from having French language skills to communicate with clients and partners, negotiate an important deal or just chitchat about your social life or about current events.

In our international class, we have lots of interesting discussions, presentations, simulated job interviews, etc. All in French of course!

Being trained in using French for Business will definitely enlarge the variety of job opportunities in Belgium but also internationally.

I can say that some courses were great and quite interesting with a few very inspiring and knowledgeable lecturers. But as I said those were just a few.

The international business program places great importance on teamwork and very often we would have assignments in groups (almost all of the courses) that would count as a percentage of our final grade. This was a great challenge for me and also for other students as it did add quite a lot of workload on a weekly basses. The purpose was apparently to teach us how to work in a team. But I don't have that impression. Most of the time the teamwork on assignments was not needed and clearly added for no reason. Especially in my third year, I was not able to follow classes because I had too many heavy group assignments that counted for too little percentage of the final grade. Also, not allowing me to properly prepare for exams and having a long-term repellent feeling towards teamwork.

The tuition is OK for the quality of education provided. However, for the students that did not come from other EU member states, the price is around 6000 euros and that is definitely not worth it.

A problem that we came across in the second year, that was the cherry on top of everything was having the name of the program changed out of nowhere. Because (in short) the university used a degree name (international business management) for which they legally didn't have the right to. And ended having the name changed to Business Management-International Business. This led to a long discussion between us the students with the management of the university that left the feeling of lack of transparency.

With this review I am not aiming to discourage anyone. This are just my personal observations which can differ from other students in this study program. At the end of the day we learn best from the challenges that we have been faced with

I’m studying international business management and the quality is rather high: the majority of the lecturer are really well prepared and care a lot about our learning process. The tuition is affordable (although it’s not possible to apply for any scholarship). A lot is expected by us as students intended as total work load.
